Arnaud Rabier Nowart is a French artist who is both a painter and film maker. He began painting in 1985 and filming in 1991. When we first met him, he was preparing a big solo show at Celal gallery in Paris – in April 2011. We took this opportunity to interview him and publish his work here (Read his interview here).
4 years after the first connection with StreetLove, Steve is back in the Nowart workshop to work together on a new project about Van Gogh.
Long story short, Van Gogh arrived in Auvers-sur-Oise on the 21st of May 1890 where he produced more than 71 art pieces – a very productive but also a very tormented period for the artist (he finally commit suicide a couple of months later – in July 1890).
Nowart and the city of Auvers-sur-Oise (suburbs of North Paris) decided to create an exhibition to submerge visitors in the last 70 days of Van Gogh’s life. Auvers-sur-Oise is also the city where the famous painter has been buried.
The team of artists has been composed by Nowart and he really succeeded to get a very energetic group that did a great job of the exhibition – the result is amazing – congrats to them all!

« The Van Gogh Experience » takes place at the Chateau of Auvers-Sur-Oise to commemorate the 125 years anniversary of Van Gogh’s death – Mister Vincent as Nowart likes to say!
The team of artists collaborated to produce a mix of video, sound, photo and light painting to tell the story of the 70 last days of Mister Vincent – all organized by the artistic eye of Nowart – someone very passionate about Van Gogh. It is so inspiring just to listen to Nowart when he talks about his ‘master’.
