Mid-2012 we had the chance of meeting Shepard Fairey aka OBEY from Los Angeles in the US. I was so happy and so excited… even more when I sate just one meter from him!
It was during the launching of a new collaboration for Levi’s jeans, with his old mate André, the French graffiti artist living mostly in Paris.
They both imagined very cool stuff for the brand. I was very close to buy something but not my style.
Shepard Fairey, born in the 70’s, is both a graffiti artist and an illustrator involved firstly in the skateboard scene. He began to be famous thanks to his stickers campaign: OBEY Giant created in 1989 and renamed in 1998. In France, he had a few exhibitions a couple of times at the Magda Danysz gallery in the 11th district in Paris. Then he participated to the project called « le M.U.R. » in May 2007 with an artwork of WK interact.
