Gent graffiti tour

Bué The Warrior Gent Belgium

Bike ride tour with Bué the Warrior

Being in Gent, Belgium to visit the city as a sponsored trip organised for my travel blog, we enjoyed our stay to meet a local graffiti artist: Bué the Warrior. Very hard to miss his artwork as it is all over the city! And we love his style – very colourful and inspired by cartoons. This morning, just after breakfast at our B&B (PPP – Poel 9, Gent) we had a meeting with the artist. We took our bikes, and we rode around the city to discover a huge number of his art pieces. This was good fun! Hard to remember where we go and what we saw as we were following him very carefully… But I think it is pretty easy to find them if you decide to go by bike too – which is pretty small and cute with good vibes.

Here are below the majority of Bué The Warrior murals – I’m sure there are new ones since and some of the below disappeared maybe… A good occasion to organize a new trip there soon (end of this lockdown/travel restriction thing)…

Bué the Warrior is from Gent, born and raised in the middle of cartoons. So he knows the city by heart and lots of locals too. He started doing street art in 1991 after a random meeting with 2 artists who gave him spray paint cans. The passion never left since then…
We love the syle kid-ish mid-kawaï and the huge number of characters he created. Amazing imagination 🙂 for this very positive and kind artist.
No particular vision or idea behind his art, he is just painting for fun enjoying his freedom to do it whenever he wants and wherever.

At that time, we knew very little about Belgium except Brussels where we have friends living there. We visited them a couple of time and we did street art tours around the city for Erick Hikups, ROA, Bonom, …

Bué the Warrior did a lot of collaborations with the great ROA, another local in Belgium and we saw a couple of ROA pieces around Gent too.

A touristic vision on Gent

Gent is a very peaceful city with a lot to see, visit and eat (and drink beers too). We had a nice week-end over there and this is one of our favourite city in Belgium I guess.
